If you are a parent and love to work out, you likely need childcare. At the Paseo Club, we know how hard it is to find a babysitter that is affordable. We care for hundreds of babies and children each week in our program called Kids Club. We believe so wholeheartedly in our childcare facility that the staff uses it themselves! In this article, we will share with you not only why parents love Kids Club, but also why the kids do too.
Why is Kids Club Central to Paseo Club?
The Paseo Club is home to many different members, but families are a large part of the club’s demographic. Since there are so many offerings for our adult members, Paseo Club wanted to ensure a special space for children too. Kids Club offers a community for the littlest members to enjoy and have their own fun at the club while parents partake in other activities.
What is the Mission of Kids Club?
The mission at Kids Club is to ensure that every child remains safe and entertained while parents enjoy all that the Paseo Club offers.
At What Age Can Members Bring Their Children to Kids Club?
There is Kids Corner (the baby room) that accommodates children from three months through four years of age. There is a small bathroom for the little ones who are potty trained and diaper changes are provided for babies. Once a child turns four and is potty trained, they are ready to transition to the Big Kid Room. The Big Kid Room, or Kids Club, accommodates children ages four years to twelve years old.
When do Kids “Graduate” from Kids Club? As children grow older, they can begin to explore different options for them around the club! There are many programs for preteen and teen members which gives them the opportunity to get involved in physical fitness and improve their skills. The club offers swim programs, tennis and pickleball camps, and more — there is something for everyone!
What are Kids Excited About at Kids Club?
- Kids Corner has toys, including puzzles, educational and sensory toys, coloring supplies, play sets, and interactive toys to promote imaginative play. Everything is appropriate for the age group and all of the toys have been vetted to be free of choking hazards. The little ones love building with blocks, playing with cars, toy phones, puzzles, and bouncy balls.
- Kids Club has toys for the older age group that promote cognitive development, creativity, and help further the development of social skills. There are also crafts and coloring supplies that change every week so that kids are excited to come in and see what is new. Legos, doll houses, board games, race tracks, and the play kitchen are all big hits.
- The outdoor area is where the kids have an opportunity to play together in the yard. There are structures and outdoor activities for all ages. There is an area targeted toward younger visitors with a play house and a smaller playground with slides. There is also a large play structure for those who are more confident on the playground. This one is equipped with tall slides, a firepole, and a play area. There are toddler swings and traditional ones that are used depending on what the children are ready for. Other outdoor activities include chalk art and playing basketball. There are other toys, balls, and games too. Kids are often seen outside playing games of hide and seek, tag, or Mr. Fox.
How do you Help a Child Who Is Feeling Nervous about Joining the Kids Club?
This issue comes up a lot. Luckily, the staff is experienced and can help children in these situations. They take the time to get to know each child individually, what their likes and dislikes are as well as their favorite activities. This definitely helps to build trust with the child. Soon the child feels ready to try an activity that helps them feel more comfortable during their stay. If a child is new to Kids Club, they are shown around the play areas, are offered some choices of activities to get involved in, and are introduced to some friends to play with. The staff is with them every step of the way until they feel more excited and are ready to navigate the play areas on their own.
Does Kids Club Have Special Events?
Kids Club hosts events a few times a month known as Play Dates and Date Nights. These are special ticketed events where parents can leave their children for a few hours of fun. Parents often go out to dinner, run errands, and have some adult time. The kids do crafts and games. They are served dinner and watch a movie.

What is the Role of the Staff? What is the Staff-to-Child Ratio?
During the child's visit, staff engages with kids in playtime and activities as well as facilitates safe play for all of the children in care. All of the staff have experience caring for children and are CPR certified. There is a staff-to-child ratio of 1:6 that is diligently followed.
Do you Have a Summer or Holiday Schedule?
