Throw a party! (A review of event venues in the Santa Clarita Valley)

February 14th, 2023 | 7 min. read

By Jen Azevedo

When you need to organize a special event, there are many factors to consider — theme, food, date and time, guest list, and so much more. But the most important decision is your venue.

Venues set the scene, determining the number of people you can have and what amenities are available. They also affect your guests' experience more than any other aspect of your event.

The Paseo Club is a social club that has supported locals in their health and fitness journeys for almost twenty years.

But the Paseo Club does not only help you meet your fitness needs, the club also meets your event planning needs. With both indoor and outdoor options, there is a space for you to host most parties.

But we are not the only venue in town. We decided to give you a full rundown of all the best spots in the Santa Clarita Valley for hosting parties and events.

In this article, you will find out why you would want an event venue, what to look for in one, what the event venues are in the Santa Clarita Valley, and their size, amenities, and cost.

Why rent an event venue?

Renting an event venue may seem complicated, but it actually saves you time and energy, so you can focus on the important details.

Venues can provide beautiful decor that helps set the stage for the event. The staff provide set up and cleaning services, seating and dining options, parking, and assistance planning your event. They deal with vendors for delivery, set up, and organizing of the event.

Plus, if your event will be more than a handful of people, you need a venue to accommodate all of your guests.

Having a professional space available means you do not have to shoulder all the responsibility yourself — a relief when there are already so many moving parts to stay on top of. The day should be relaxing for the host, knowing their needs are covered.

What type of events do people need a venue for?

Many events happen only occasionally — even once in a lifetime — and deserve a special space. Events that often need venues are:

  • Birthdays
  • Weddings
  • Birth reveals
  • Anniversaries
  • Baby showers
  • Bridal showers
  • Bat/bar mitzvah
  • School banquets
  • Celebrations of life
  • Award ceremonies
  • Christmas/holiday parties
  • Private dining experiences
  • Monthly breakfast meetings
  • Introduction/installation luncheons
  • Prom/winter formals/school dances

What should people look for in an event venue?

When you shop for the best event venue to suit your needs, there are several factors to consider. Here is a thorough checklist for you to use.

Assessing the venue

  • What is the total cost?
  • Do they offer valet parking?
  • Do they have high ceilings?
  • What is the size of the parking lot?
  • Is there a green room for entertainment?
  • Is there open space with lots of windows?
  • Is there nothing that divides the room in half?

Staff support and assistance

  • What staff is available at the venue?

Dining options

  • Do they allow outside catering?
  • Do they offer late-night snacks?
  • Can you bring in your own dessert?
  • What upgrades are optional or included?
  • Is there a special price for vendor meals?
  • What are the pricing and upgrades for food?
  • What are the food and beverage selections?
  • Is a tasting included, and for how many people?
  • What type of table and chairs are included, and are they included?

Outdoor settings

  • What is the noise level?
  • What is the walking distance?
  • What is the privacy of the setting?
  • What are the sounds of other activities around the event space?

Wedding amenities

  • Is there a bridal suite?
  • Is there an arch included?
  • Is there a cake cutting fee?
  • Is a champagne toast included?
  • What is the rehearsal day and time?
  • Is there a place for the groom to change?
  • Is there a ceremony site, and is it inside or outside?
  • Is champagne and lunch items for the bride and bridal party provided in the bridal suite?

Planning Logistics

  • What is the extra hour fee?
  • How much time to tear down?
  • How much time to set up prior?
  • How much venue time is included during the event time?
