Becoming a member of a private club is the gateway to fitness, relationships, and fun. Private clubs provide services and amenities that are custom-designed for people who value the finer things in life.
When you join a club, you become part of a community of like-minded people. You get to make new friends and share enriching experiences with other members.
Choosing the right club for you requires attention to detail and a comprehensive assessment of the services, resources, quality, and costs of the club.
The Paseo Club is a private social club in the Santa Clarita Valley. Although we provide many fitness and social services to SCV residents, we are not the only private club in the area.
In this article, we will describe all three private clubs in Santa Clarita so you can learn what they offer, what types of membership they have available, and the culture of each club.
What is a private club?
Private clubs provide a venue for socializing, participating in activities, and enjoying certain amenities. Club attendees are members who pay for access to the facility and its services.
Private clubs are places to form a community with other people who have similar interests. Most private clubs are centered around an activity, such as golf, tennis, or running.
Who can be a member of a private club?
To be a member of a private club you must pay membership fees, initiation fees, fees for specific amenities, and sometimes equity fees, depending on the institution.
Some private clubs also have restrictions on the people who may join. This right is protected under the First Amendment of the Constitution. It is called expressive association. The Jonathan Club, a social club in Los Angeles County, did not allow female members until 1987.
What services do private clubs offer?
While many clubs originate based on a single activity, many evolve to become more inclusive and diverse in their offerings to grow membership. That can lead to several types of membership offerings.
Private clubs often provide:
- Spa services
- Areas for socializing
- Sauna and steam rooms
- Facilities for fitness, court games, and golf
- Venues for business meetings, parties, and weddings
- Cafes, restaurants, and clubhouses for meals and drinks
