What are the benefits of small group training?
There are several benefits to attending a small group training class.
Fun: Although you may dread working out at times, exercising with a small group of people where you can share your challenges and triumphs keeps class fun.
Variety: Small group training classes are led by qualified instructors who select programming to keep your workout diversified so you never get stuck in a rut.
Instruction: Trainers are experts in proper form and technique. This helps you to activate the correct muscles and to stay safe, preventing injury or stress. Instructors are also great at encouraging you to push yourself a little harder than you might do on your own — helping you to get results faster.
Camaraderie: People who attend small group training classes often go to class regularly. That means you will see many of the same people. This consistency helps you to form bonds and build camaraderie. It also increases your sense of accountability — which helps you to keep showing up for class.
Faster Results: Regular attendance and the guidance of a skilled professional is the recipe you need to get noticeable results. It is much harder to make progress when you exercise on your own and rely on just yourself for motivation.
More affordable: Small group training classes are significantly cheaper than hiring a private trainer.
What are the drawbacks?
The drawbacks to small group training are few but are worth noting.
Less attention than private training: The number of members that attend small group training classes is kept small, but only with a personal trainer will you get the undivided attention of an instructor.
More expensive than a gym membership: Whether it is at the Paseo Club or another fitness facility, membership is more affordable than paying the extra fees that come with small group training classes.
You do not get to design the programming: Let’s say you hate squats. You go to a small group training class, and guess what? It’s squats. Jumping squats, weighted squats, squat holds. You spend the entire class eyeing the exit door, just waiting to be done. Small group training class means you are signing up to do your instructor’s program.
Only certain Small Group Training classes are offered: Small group training classes are a select collection. Not all fitness classes come as a small group option. Are you looking for a small group Zumba class? Sorry, out of luck.

Personal Training
What is personal training at the Paseo Club?
Personal training at the Paseo Club is a private exercise class just for you. You can choose from one of our many personal trainers to be assessed, discuss goals, and make a plan of action to help you achieve the success you want.
What exercises are taught with a personal trainer at the Paseo Club?
EVERYTHING can be taught by the Paseo Club’s Personal Trainers.
They work diligently to specify the needs, wants, and goals of each client. Working one-on-one gives you the unique opportunity to include just about anything on your personal fitness journey.
What are the benefits of personal training?
Personal training is the single best method to see results.
Safety: Working with a private trainer will help you to learn proper form and technique, which prevents strains and injury.
Confidant: A personal trainer can be a confidant to share your joys and frustrations with.
Goal setting: Personal trainers collaborate with you to identify and create goals for your success.
Accountability: A personal trainer helps you stay on track with your training and motivates you to show up for every session you schedule.
Lifestyle support: You can learn about nutrition, rest, recovery, and mobilizing when you work with a personal trainer.
One-on-one attention: Individualized attention helps you to learn new types of exercise, proper form, and how to challenge yourself.
Customized workouts: A personal trainer programs your exercises just for you. They can take into account any injuries or limitations you have, other sports or activities you are in, and your personal goals.
Schedule accommodations: If you work, have kids, travel often, or whatever else makes your schedule tricky, that is ok when you have a private instructor. Together you find the times that work for you.
Develop workout plans for the future: Many people work with a private trainer for a set period, then transition to attending small group classes or exercising on their own. A personal trainer will help you to identify what steps to take to maintain or continue your progress.
What are the drawbacks?
There are two drawbacks to hiring a personal trainer.
Cost: Hiring a personal trainer is the most expensive option in exercise. This can be tough on the budget and limit how many sessions you can sign up for.
No classmates: Small group classes are fun because you have classmates that cheer you on or crack jokes with you. Your trainer will definitely encourage you, but you will not get the same sense of camaraderie that you would find in a group environment.
What is the cost of personal training at the Paseo Club?
The cost of personal training at the Paseo Club ranges from $75 - $95/hr, depending on the trainer and the frequency of training.
Which Paseo Club fitness program is right for me?
The Paseo Club offers two excellent options to help you meet your fitness goals: small-group training and personal trainers.
If you prefer to work out with a group, are on a limited budget, and have no significant injuries, then small group training classes may be the best fit.
If you are looking to hit specific goals, are recovering from an injury, or want to learn the perfect form for new movements, then personalized attention from a trainer is the most effective plan to choose.
But if you want some one-on-one attention and the fun of sweating it out with a group, then sign up for small group training and a personal trainer and get the best of both worlds.
