There is a lot of research about what fitness method will get you the best results the fastest. Unfortunately, the advice changes, and sometimes one report contradicts another.
One undisputed fact is that training with a skilled instructor in small groups is one of the most effective ways to build strength, endurance, and cardiovascular health. Small group fitness classes also lower stress and boost your mood, benefiting your mental health.
The Paseo Club has been at the forefront of providing not one but several small group training programs. One of the most popular choices is a comprehensive program called The Greatest Results.
In this article, you will learn about one member’s experience with The Greatest Results. Paseo Club member Greg Straub attended this six-week program last winter — and his “results” were nothing short of impressive. Read on to learn more about Greg’s experience.
What is The Greatest Results small group program?
The Greatest Results is a unique six-week program that incorporates fitness assessments, physical training, nutritional consultation, and ongoing support. It helps members learn to be accountable in all areas of their health and well-being.

Why Greg signed up for The Greatest Results
Greg Straub hit a tough streak in 2023, first in January 2023, when he had heart surgery, and later in August 2023, when he had shoulder surgery. After recovering from both, he decided to focus on his health and nutrition.
Mike Zeltser, a Paseo Club member and previous winner of The Greatest Results Challenge, told Greg about the program’s benefits. Learning about The Greatest Results inspired Greg to join, and in January 2024, he signed up.
“Ultimately, my goal was to heighten my overall health and look at better ways to maintain it,” said Greg.
What area of health and fitness did Greg want support with?
Greg knew he needed to work on his general health. Although he’d been active, he realized there were still areas he could improve.
“Initially, I was focused on improving my overall health — nutrition and exercise, and (get) an honest review of my fitness level.”
However, Greg’s experience ended up surpassing his hopes. The Greatest Results helped him evaluate his health and fitness in a new way, inspiring even greater changes.
Yet, he did not do this alone! “(The Paseo Club) trainers have been supportive and non-judgmental. They focus on helping me become healthier and stronger and facilitate a desire to maintain this feeling.”
Greg’s classmates were instrumental in helping him surpass his goals. “An additional benefit has been the friendships I have made in this group. We have fought and weathered through sessions together, and I appreciate every one of my GR teammates.”
Greg’s fitness schedule
Greg has a long-standing history of participating in tennis groups and leagues. He also incorporates some running into his routine.
When he joined The Greatest Results, he attended fitness classes more frequently than ever before. He went on Monday evenings and Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday mornings. Training often was challenging at times but he found that the small group dynamics helped him stay on track.
“While there are occasional days where I would have loved to roll over, the support of the training staff and my teammates fueled my motivation to continue pushing me forward,” said Greg.
Greg realized that although training by himself is productive, he got more traction and faster results by working with trainers. “While I could exercise or train on my own, I do not believe I would have pushed myself as (hard as when I) attend class sessions. The motivational push from Frank, Diana, Mike, Jen, Justin, Cezanne, and others has been uplifting. My life has improved through the help of all of these special people.”
What about nutrition and healthy eating?
Consistent exercise is a significant part of being healthy. However, eating well is also very important. The Greatest Results program educates and supports participants to learn about better health through nutrition.
The cooking and meal planning class offers members practical steps, including healthy and tasty recipes, food prep ideas, and cooking techniques. Participants take a field trip to the supermarket to learn to select the best ingredients for their meals.

“The program has made me more focused and aware of what I am eating,” Greg reports. “While that may sound like a commercial for a diet company, I have also seen that some of the things I have been eating are good for me or ok in my overall health plan. The macro nutrition guide provides me with a bible to manage what I eat and the amounts.”
What changes did Greg notice from attending The Greatest Results program?
Upon completing The Greatest Results program, Greg was pleased to notice changes in his physique and significant improvements in his health.
“The program has helped me become successful in improving my body composition, eating habits, and outlook on life. I toned my body and lost weight — more importantly, I stabilized my weight. I feel significantly better.
However, the ultimate sign of success was when my cardiologist recently removed me from almost all medications. This substantiates all the hard work and the support from my teammates,” said Greg.
How did The Greatest Results affect Greg’s lifestyle and fitness regime?
Greg’s experience with The Greatest Results improved his life — with far-reaching physical and mental benefits. These positive changes have been so helpful for him that he decided to continue to attend The Greatest Results program for all of 2024.
He finds that with his teammates’ encouragement and the trainers who push him, he is the best he can be.
Greg continues to keep the macro nutritional guide handy for reference. He finds himself constantly monitoring labels on food packages and ingredient lists to ensure he eats healthier than before.
Greg’s goals for the future
Greg recognizes that aging is inevitable. However, by continuing to participate in The Greatest Results program, he is slowing the process as much as possible and believes that his continued focus is “essential.” His remaining goal is to have his doctor terminate the use of any remaining medications.
“The Greatest Results has truly changed my life. While that may sound cliche, my health has improved, my mental outlook has improved, my focus is better defined, and I have grown closer to my teammates. I am thankful for the program, and I believe my health has improved dramatically.
Hopefully, I can share this one success story with others and help them take that next step the way that Mike Zeltser helped me take that same step,” states Greg.

Making changes can be scary — even for experienced athletes like Greg.
“The first session brought a wave of fear. Could I withstand the program? Those fears went away as I started to notice the (positive) impact. As the year continued, it became motivating. I could not wait to get to class, to be pushed by others, and to help push those around me.
Today, I feel guilty if I miss a session. The Greatest Results truly has been life-changing. If those words appear dramatic, then at least the program has been life-altering for me.”
