We are all starting to feel the strain of the winter holidays. They are fun, joyous, and a wonderful opportunity to socialize with friends, family, and co-workers. But this time of year, we are juggling more than any other time.
Holiday parties, end-of-the-semester school performances, prepping your home for guests, shopping for gifts — oh my! It sometimes feels as if there is not a spare moment to breathe — let alone exercise.
The Paseo Club knows this can be a hectic time. That is why we created the 12 Days of Fitness Challenge. This program will help you stay on track with your fitness goals and have the opportunity to check out some classes you may not have tried before. Win-Win!
In this article, you will learn what the 12 Days of Fitness Challenge is, the benefits of a fitness challenge, and how you can participate.
What is the 12 Days of Fitness Challenge?
The 12 Days of Fitness Challenge is a program the Paseo Club organized to help you try new classes and stay committed to your fitness routine.
Paseo Club members have from December 1st to December 31st to complete 12 fitness classes. But you can only submit one class per day — no doubling up to finish in six days!
The first 50 people to complete the challenge will receive a Paseo Club beanie.
Why should members join a fitness challenge?
The benefit of joining a fitness challenge is it keeps you motivated to workout during the busy holiday season.
During this time of the year, it is very easy to get distracted with holiday activities — school presentations, work parties, shopping, etc. When this happens, making time to take care of your health and fitness gets pushed aside.
The Paseo Club is hosting the 12 Days of Fitness Challenge to support you in making time for yourself — even if it is just for one hour each day.
What fitness classes are eligible for the challenge?
There are a variety of classes available. Each fitness challenge card has eight mandatory classes and four classes of your choice.
The prescribed classes are:
- Barre
- Strictly Strength
- Cardio Strength
- Cycle (two times)
- Strength and Tone
- Yoga or Pilates Mat (two times)
The remaining four classes you can select from the dozens of other fitness classes taught at the club. Some options include:
- Zumba
- Liquid Cardio
- Walking Class
- HIIT 30 minutes
- Pilates Reformer
- Kickboxing and so much more!
What about court drills?
Yes!
Pickleball and tennis drills count as a fitness class of your choice and go toward your 12 Days of Fitness Challenge class count.

Final thoughts on the 12 Days of Fitness Challenge
According to Harvard Medical School, sixty-two percent of people describe their stress level as “very or somewhat” elevated during the holidays. This is a natural response from being overly busy, eating more poorly, and feeling the financial demands of gift buying.
One of the most effective tools to mitigate the effects of stress is to exercise. Although it may feel impossible to get any physical activity during this season, scheduling it ahead is the best method to make it happen.
The Paseo Club is a social club in the Santa Clarita Valley that offers over 60 fitness classes each week, plus tennis and pickleball programs, and a junior Olympic pool for laps, aqua aerobics, and recreational swimming.
The club offers a full-scale spa staffed by two massage therapists and an esthetician. There is also a cafe and clubhouse for all your dining needs. It is all here at the Paseo Club.
If you are interested in a community-focused fitness center, then the Paseo Club may be a great fit for you. Schedule a tour of the club and meet staff, instructors, and members.
