How to participate in Paddle for the Battle and support the Michael Hoefflin Foundation

September 27th, 2024 | 3 min. read

By Paseo Club Team

The Michael Hoefflin Foundation of Santa Clarita is a nonprofit organization that is dedicated to supporting families who have children with cancer. The organization was inspired by the founders’ experience with their son, Michael, who had a brain tumor and ultimately passed away in 1996.

Their passion for helping other families in similar situations has fueled the foundation, which now offers several services to families in need and to cancer research. However, their success depends on the support of the greater local community.

The Paseo Club is a private club in Santa Clarita that provides its members fitness, pickleball, tennis, Pilates, and swimming resources. But the club is not just a fitness center. The Paseo Club is committed to social engagement and community connections, which is why the club loves to support local charitable organizations.

In this article, you will learn more about the Michael Hoefflin Foundation, their next fundraiser Paddle for the Battle, and how you can get involved in this very important cause.

They serve families in Santa Clarita Valley, San Fernando Valley, Simi Valley, Antelope Valley, and portions of the Conejo Valley.

The services they provide include:

  • Information and referrals
  • Family entertainment activities
  • Quarterly support group meetings

MHF also helps to finance medical research at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, City of Hope, Mattel Children’s Hospital at UCLA, and the Harbor-UCLA Medical Center.

Paddle for the Battle is one of MHF’s most successful annual fundraisers. The Paseo Club and MHF team up every year to host a weekend of pickleball, raffles, and community celebrations.

MHF provides close to $12,000 in support to families monthly. They receive no government support and rely on community donations to provide the services. The goal of Paddle for the Battle is to raise $25,000.

The next Paddle for the Battle is on October 4, 5, and 6, Friday through Sunday. This event is for pickleball players of all levels and ages — and anyone else who wants to support MHF.

How can you get involved with Paddle for the Battle?

Paddle for the Battle will be held at the Paseo Club from 7:30 am - 7 pm on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, October 4-6. There are several ways you can support this fundraising event.
