Our goal is to get our children playing tennis as soon as possible and teach them the skills necessary to continuously improve while having a great time.

Instructional Programs
Junior Academy – Our After School Junior Academy provides group instruction for children 3 years of age through high school ages of various abilities. Your children will learn the mechanics and footwork necessary to hitting the ball properly from our highly qualified staff. They will participate in drills, play points, and work on the various physical and mental aspects of the game to help them continuously improve. Playing Programs
Club Junior Singles Championships- This event is held annually and the juniors always have a great time. It is a singles tournament and is either a round robin or elimination tournament with a consolation bracket to ensure the juniors play at least 2 matches.
Youth League Tennis- We offer leagues where our young members play sets against each other. This is excellent for all children who are able to play sets. This league is offered in seven week sessions. Contact Desi McBride to get involved in our Youth League Tennis!

VCJTA Tournaments- We support a tournament system started by Wayne Bryan who is the father of the number one doubles team in the world Mike and Bob Bryan. They hold the record for most ATP Doubles Titles won. This group hosts tournaments in and around Ventura County, including here at The Paseo Club, on a weekly basis and are a terrific way for juniors to get started playing tournament tennis. They are also a great way for more experienced juniors to play in a one weekend tournament between their USTA tournaments.
USTA Tournaments- The USTA is the governing board for tennis in the United States and the tournaments available to juniors in Southern California. These tournaments range in ability levels from Novice (getting started playing tournaments) to Satelite (intermediate level players) to Open Level Events. Some of the best players who ever played the game, including Pete Sampras and Lindsay Davenport grew up playing tennis in these tournaments.
Junior Round Robin Tournament – these tournaments are designed to provide match play to our juniors and prepare them for USTA and VCJTA tournaments.
Junior Tennis Ladders – A High School and a Junior Tennis Ladder are available for members to get involved with and meet new players at or near their level of play. Contact Desi McBride to get on the ladder.
Doubles Round Robins- Enjoy a beautiful evening at The Paseo Club playing some great tennis, then hanging out with friends! Sign up with a partner or let us pair you up with someone. As usual, the Loggia will be open to enjoy a snack or soda after the tennis. Format may vary as some are keep your own partner and others have partner switching, but they are always fun!
