All about KP
Calling himself an, “Ambassador of Tennis”, Kenny loves teaching to all ages and believes his passion, energy, enthusiasm and devotion to the sport transcends to his students. He works with them to build a balance of tennis skills and fitness, and strives for nothing but the highest quality program attainable. Seeking to build lasting relationships with all of his students, Kenny will cater to their every tennis need. Knowledge of and love for the game leads him to fulfill his destiny of spreading the great message of tennis. He is affectionately known to many at The Paseo Club as the “Pied Piper of Tennis.”
Before entering tennis full time, Kenny spent over 30 years in the music industry, 23 years of which were with the legendary Warner Brothers Records family. Music is very popular with touring tennis pros and so good fortune would bring Kenny together with former #1 professional, Jim Courier, at an R.E.M. concert in Atlanta. Through his ongoing relationship with Jim Courier, he has had the chance to spend some time behind the scenes of professional tennis, meeting and learning from the pros, their coaches and trainers. He believes that the many people he met along the way gave him a unique perspective to teaching tennis.
Kenny joined The Paseo Club pro staff in the fall of 2006 and is actively involved in the Junior Academy, including Future Pros (3-5 year olds) and Grand Prix (5-8 year olds) and also teaches private and group lessons to adults. Before coming to The Paseo Club, he coached at Canyon High with the girl’s tennis team, the head coach of the boys & girls tennis teams at Golden Valley High, followed by head coaching duties for boys & girls at West Ranch High for 3 years. Coach KP holds the distinction of having his girls tennis team at West Ranch being the first team of any sport to make the CIF playoffs in school history. Following his tenure at West Ranch, he moved to Valencia High School where he was assistant varsity coach for both the boys & girls teams. In addition, he taught private lessons throughout the Santa Clarita Valley. He also directed several summer tennis camp programs in the SCV for the College of the Canyons high school program. He has a unique wish to become the first person to coach all 6 high schools in the valley. Something someday he hopes to fulfill. Coach KP, takes pride and considers himself to be what he calls a “tennis concierge” handling his clients and all members addressing their every tennis need.
